Spectacular mountain lakes are a short drive from our properties.  North and South Lakes are more frequently visited by larger groups of visitors.  Colgate Lake, a part of the previous Colgate estate is less known and less than five-minutes from Nehapwa.  Each lake is surrounded with beautiful mountain peaks.

Numerous mountain biking trails are available to mountain bike enthusiasts including use of local ski area runs off season.  If required, mountain bikes can be rented locally.

American fly fishing originated in The Catskills.  The Dutch word for stream, ‘skill’, reflects the almost innumerable streams that flow from the mountain peaks which make this a fly-fisher’s paradise.  Guided tours are available from our local expert partners.

Guided horseback excursions and lessons are available from our local horse ranch.  Numerous mountain trails are available for first-time thru advanced riders.  The Saugerties horse show is in full-swing throughout each Summer offering a stunning display of world-class horse competition.

Saugerties and Hudson offer a respectable selection of reasonably priced antique stores and malls.  Hudson, a primary source for New York City’s elite design community,  boasts one of the most extensive selections of antiques in the United States.

A wide-variety of participative and leisure arts activities are available in the area May-November.  Sugar Maples, the area’s extensive arts cooperative,  offers a wide-variety of classes for children, teens and adults - including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber arts and jewelry.  Sugar Maples’ special program for children, Art Explorers for Kids, is available every summer.
